AAAHH.

Okay, so the last two months of my life have basically been the absolute best of my entire life. (maybe that's an exaggeration, but maybe not. I haven't decided yet.)

One of the main components of my best two months was that I went on my very first cruise! I have a friend Jonny who called me up one day and was like, "Hey, let's go on a cruise, do everything you can to make it happen, quit your job if you have to." I was like, "Alright, I won't go that far, but I will try my hardest." After a lot of hard work and determination, I was finally set and booked for the cruise. 5 days before the cruise date, Jonny told me that he wasn't coming anymore. Okay. Whatever.

I was a little worried about basically not knowing anybody out of the the 30+ college kids that went, but it ended up being the best time ever.

first sunset on the ship

there's no way you can't feel classy with the sea-salty wind blowing in your hair while you watch the sunset.

GIANT CHESS

The "80's/early 2000 style" mezzanine

we made karaoke before dinner a nightly tradition.

this was a low point in my selfie game.

dinner the first night.

We woke up the next morning to the very best breakfast & there was also suddenly a beautiful island out our window!

The ferry ride to the island was like being at Disneyland but 1000x better.
Kyle still thinks that duck faces are cool.

The PRETTIEST island.

palm trees fo' dayyzz

I took the most touristy photos.

Four of us rented a golf cart for a few hours & it was one of the best decisions! We were able to cart around the whole city & see some incredible views.

Pet Semetary

our view from where we had lunch on the pier (AND THE RESTAURANT PLAYED WILDFLOWERS BY TOM PETTY, SO YOU KNOW WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE.)

We found the other half of our group through a Mexican restaurant window.

Then we found the seal....

The only underwater photo that I took the whole trip....

It was so cold.

Goodbye, Catalina...

Hello, room service.

My cutie roommates that I ran into at karaoke that night.

Best dressed.

Rabbit!

WE SAW DOLPHINS!!!!

The next day we ported in Esenada, Mexico & rented a mini van with zero suspension. Sorry to the boys in the back!

Call me Soccer Mom Ashtyn

We picked up some monopoly money

stopped by the cutest ever bestest ghost town resort where we had our own private beach.
Such a dream.

Getting better at selfies.

Cutest boys.

We stopped by the smallest tamale stand and got a billion 10 cent tamales. My first!

On our way to La Bufadora, we got hungry so we stopped by a big restaurant. It was totally deserted. Our mini van was the only car in the whole parking lot. We sent Kyle, our spanish speaker, in to see if it was abandoned/run by ghosts/closed. H found a guy in there who said they were open so we went on in!

It was the dreamiest place in the whole world. The roof was thatched palms, there was mosaics & Mexican art everywhere. And the plants! I felt like I was eating in a jungle! I wanted to stay there forever. It was the best place.

My Mexican Coke tasted like Pepsi & I was very unimpressed.

BUT THEN PIMENTA DECIDED TO HANG OUT WITH US AND THE RESTAURANT REDEEMED ITSELF X100000000

homemade chips n salsa

Did I mention we were the only ones in the place the whole time?

Next, we went to La Bufadora. It was a little less charming than the restaurant, but so fun just the same. I picked up a poncho (for $8!!) some Dia de los Muertos heads, a dried baby stingray, & a leather purse.

This is unfortunately where my camera died for the rest of the trip, so the rest of the pictures are out of order, & gathered from others on the cruise!

On the drive back home. We were all so exhausted.

In the mini van!

Kyle looks so good in my shirt.

Searching for sand dollars, hermit crabs, & sea anonomes (how the eff do you spell that?)!
