first off, here's an adorable picture of anna that i took sitting in front of a children's shoe store...

.seriously....they have a store for EVERYTHING. they only have one "supermarket". they call it an american invention, because other than the super market, everything has it's own individual shoppe. there's perfume shops...and MAGAZINE shops...produce shops...meat shops...bread shops...and everything.

it takes a lot longer to get everything you need, but that's just how life works here. everything moves a lot slower. i think one of the biggest indicators of that is their greeting of a baiser on each cheek. shaking a hand would be SO much faster,  but really, why are we so set on getting things done so quickly? i'm really glad that i'm here so long because this way i don't feel like i have to do everything all right at once and i have time to relax and think about what i want to do each day instead of just goinggoinggoing alll the tiiiime.

it's been nice.

i usually go on a bike ride each day to a new part of town. the other day i went to this really cool old church that no one uses anymore...(religion is basically like a fairytale here. no one is any sort of practicing faith. it's very interesting.) so it's just sitting there, right next door to these old barracks that they've turned into a prison....right in the center of town. all very strange in my opinion. whatevs. sadly i cannot remember the name of this church, but i was reading in a brochure about it that said it was damaged in WWII and there is only one original stain glass window left. i have a picture of it, i'll put in here somewhere...

very pretty. there was that beautiful garden you can see there....those buildings on the far right are the prison. SO weird to me that it's just sitting there in the very centre of town. i obviously can't get over it.

that is another picture of the garden....and the building on the left is the prison!

i found this beautiful little mary shrine in the back of the church in some old electrical box....it is made out of seashells. looks like someone wishes that this church was still in service!

me an mah bike....and the real life COBBLESTONE, WHAT WHAT.
the streets and the sidewalks basically are the same thing and everyone drives on the sidewalks and everyone walks on the streets...it's fine....

CARS ARE SO FAST!! Like, not, ah they're bad drivers and ah! but they're SO small and have so much quick power to them, it is crazy. i want a european car so bad! they're small and they pack a punch. just the way i like things....i guess.

i'm not very good at this blogging thing. (:

just an adorable house that i passed by on my bike ride...

i rode by the church building so i know where it is!!

and i bought an eclair! (i actually thought it was a doughnut, so imagine my surprise when i took a bite and there was ice cream inside...soooo gooood!!)

it was so good that i didn't even care there was chocolate on my teef.
