i've learned a lot this past weekend about myself, about god, and about differences.

  • i learned that i suck at homework. i've been switching in between math and yoga (yoga homework, can you believe it?!)for the past two hours and it is a ridiculously slow process even when i am ONLY working on that (not face booking, twittering, blogging, etc.)
  • i learned that hot and fresh krispy kremes are what the clouds in heaven taste like.
  • i learned that what the prophets say are true. (weird, right?) the union between a man and a woman is supposed to be one where they are both lifting each other. if you aren't learning more about the pure love of christ, then you are just treading water.
  • i learned that i actually AM willing to make sacrifices....if the price is right.
  • i learned how grateful i am for all of the strong, beautiful woman that are incredible examples in my life. even though i'm not necessarily a supporter of obama, i feel like this image wraps up perfectly what i am trying to say.
more than enough times, the apostles and prophets have made mention to how influential their wives are to them. that they would not be half of the men that they are today without the guidance of the women in their lives. they say we (women) are here to keep the men in a straight line. to me, that takes such humility, but more than that pure love, to admit. why would i want anything less than that? i finally understand what it means when they say we have something just as great as the priesthood. we have the divine ability (and responsibility in my opinion) to actuate and direct it.
  • i learned that it is hard sometimes to choose feeling the spirit over having familiarity in friends or in media. it sounds easy in concept, but when you try it in real life, you'll suddenly feel differently.
  • i learned that i might have to give up my dream of going somewhere beachy and exciting someday....but that doesn't mean i'm going to stop trying.
  • i learned that when dogs make your pinky bleed, there will most likely be a really gross looking wound for a really long time.
  • i learned that there aren't many people like me that constantly want to be moving around and seeing new places and living in new towns.
  • i learned that recognizing your own selfishness is a great thing....unless it's too late to repair damage done by said selfishness. then it's just an okay thing.
  • i learned (it seems that i will ever stop learning about this.) that i am a strong, beautiful daughter of god. that i don't have to sacrifice what i know to be important to feel loved. if i am doing the things that are right for me personally, i will ultimately find a happiness that i cannot even fathom.

he never said it would be easy, but he did say it would be worth it.<3

kati ditty.

1) she is legitimately the most helpful person in the world. you will never ever meet another person that would give you the shirt off their back, the shoes on their feet, and then make you dinner. (not that i've ever tried to do this, but she would.)

2) her hair. c'mon. let's all just be honest and admit that when we look at this hair we die with envy inside a little bit.

3) her natural ability to create all things beautiful including (but not limited to) handwriting! sets! drawings! and my favorite...nails! she is so good. when i am rich i am going to pay her so much money all the time to do my nails. i hope she is okay with that.(:

4) her kindness. so many times in our friendship has she said the exact right thing at the exact right moment. she has this innate ability to know what people need to hear. i am so grateful for that.

5) her mom's cheddar-potato-bacon soup. #letsbereal

6) her knowledge of thanksgiving point's dinosaur museum. she knows all of the fun trivia and tricks to the place. if you go without kati ditty you are missing the whole entire meaning of it all.

7) the fact that she had to convince me that her name was actually kati ditty. i didn't believe her at first. i mean....it's like a name from world perfect.

8) that she doesn't realize how influential of a person she is. so many people look up to her. i know i do. and i don't even think she understands how....special that is.

9)GLIIIIITTTTTTTEEEEEEERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10) her over-all love for life. i wish that just for one day i could see the world through kati's eyes. i imagine it would be filled with all of my favourite things. ....because that's what she does with life. she makes every piece and part of it her own.  EVERYTHING is kati's favourite thing.

i hope that someday my spirit will be as great as kati ditty's.

just a little prequel to the story i am about to tell...
i got a bus pass and it was THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE.

i haven't had to drive my car for five whole days.
it's so great.
srsly.

and the new frontrunner south opens decemeber first and i get to use my bus pass on that! i am beyond excited. i love trains. and i won't have to take poor hermione over that awful mountain in order to get home.

anyways...to get to my apartment, i only have to get on one bus  (the 830) and it usually takes less than 10 minutes. (have i mentioned how great it is?) but because i am a noob, i got on the wrong bus (the 831). and rode aaaaall throughtout stupid provo. all the way up past byu and everything. i didn't get back to uvu to get on the right bus until over AN HOUR LATER. srsly awful.

but while i was on the bus for such a long amount of time some fun things happened.

for one thing, i passed by this bus stop that @cgreenburg and i did at photoshoot once!

our photographer was siara whitman and you can find her work at the photo bliss. she's so great. i wish she didn't move so she could do my someday engagements.

then awhile later four old people without teeth, leathery skin, and tattoos all over got on the bus. they talked all about the county jail gossip and i thought it very interesting and super hilarious. all the other kids on the bus thought they were gross (they kind of were) but i just the loved the entertainment.

i loved them so much that i sneaked...snoke...snuck? a pic.

the other day...

I had a dream that I got the stupidest tattoos. I never told a soul that I ended up hating every single one.

Even my inner-conscious is full of pride.

Last Night

Friday, August 31

Last night, I worked my second night at my new job: The Holiday Inn Express in Orem!
It's really great because it is seriously like...less than a football field away. I haven't had to use my car in 5 days because I just walk and ride the bus everywhere.
Anyway, last night, the BYU football team stayed at the hotel because their coach likes to make sure they go to bed on time, which I think is super hilarious.
It was really funny to watch all these HUGE guys walking around among the random  super skinny beautiful girls that were waiting for their football playing love interest to come pick them up from the lobby. So great.
Anyways, the hotel gave me a BYU shirt to wear so we could be supportive...I guess. Not quite sure. Over-all it was an okay shift. It is a lot easier than the Marriott, but I feel like that means there's more room to be lazy. So I hope that doesn't happen.
...what am I saying? Of course it won't happen! I am an exceptional employee.(;
